Knitted Fabrics are made by interlooping a single continuous length of yarn together horizontally. Needles similar to crochet hooks create stitch after stitch.
Knitted goods are produced either as an open-width fabric using a back-and-forth movement or as a tubular fabric using a circular knit. Knitted fabrics are highly breathable and possess high elasticity, both in length and breadth, a low tendency to crease and high porosity.
They are, however, susceptible to the development of runs or ladders.
Gestricke sind jedoch empfindlich gegen Laufmaschenentstehung.
