The PSI Sustainability Awards Jury
The Sustainability Awards are aimed at helping to improve not just the promotional products world but the world in general. That’s a big goal. To help achieve it, we’ve asked people to join our awards jury who care deeply about sustainability. All of them have proven throughout their careers that they know how to use responsibility to make a real impact.
The PSI Sustainability Awards evaluation system consists of two parts, which contributes to its transparency: first, a predefined scoring system assigns a score to all queried and supplied data. The stricter and more important the profile of a certificate, the higher the participant’s score. Also taken into account will be the type and size of the company as well as the production site and/or production facilities. But in-house corporate initiatives addressing environmental and social issues will also be evaluated.
Generally speaking, the jury will evaluate any aspects touching on companies and products that are not already captured by official certificates or quality seals. In particular, this refers to participating in-house initiatives, which may range from transparent production guidelines and processes to corporate culture to social commitment.
Extremely high standards were used to select the members of the jury.

Miriam Kehl is Personal Assistant to the Board of Directors at Landbell AG für Rückhol-Systeme, a German recycling company, as well as Associate Director at Green Alley Investment GmbH, a subsidiary of Landbell specialized in circular economy investments. After her degree in language and communication at Marburg University she worked in the agency and financial sector where she developed conceptual designs for marketing and product management. At Green Alley she focusses on building up cooperation with various partners and creating a green economy network. Through her role at Landbell she gained expertise in assessing innovative business models in recycling and waste management.

Christopher is working for Compliance & Forensic at KPMG Germany and is responsible for various topics that deal with violations in all areas. Before that, he managed the compliance department of a large advertising agency group in Germany.

Since 2009 Susanne Stark has worked at the public utilities body Stadtwerke Düsseldorf. Here she heads the Projects, Studies, Concepts department and is in charge of the internal and external coordination of district heating roll-out. Prior to this role she managed the department’s Energy and Environmental Policy. From 2009 to 2012 she was in charge of e-mobility themes for Stadtwerke Düsseldorf and for the model project “E-mobil NRW” for North Rhine-Westphalia. Before this post she was a green energy product manager within a community association. At Koelnmesse she was in charge of organisation for a number of trade fair projects for three years. For many years she was also active in the academic field and as a consultant for community energy concepts and energy savings, CO2-reduction strategies and national sustainability strategies at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, Energy, to name but one institution.
