Without regard to cultures or borders, people are simply there for others. This helpfulness has recently been impressively demonstrated by Trodat Trotec, a globally operating stamp manufacturer. Background: Hurricane Florence raged on the east coast of the United States in mid-September. Trodat Trotec has its US manufacturing facility there, in New Bern in North Carolina. Fortunately, the plant was spared, but many of the employees' private homes fell victim to the storm. "This called for fast and uncomplicated action," says CEO Dr. Ing. Norbert Schrüfer, who initiated a fundraiser together with CFO Mag. Peter Köstler. "Trodat Trotec will double the amount donated by employees to employees!" A whopping $40,000 was the outcome. The amount was split up among the local people concerned according to a key. In addition, injured employees received ten days of unpaid leave to rebuild their homes. In any case, during the hurricane, the production was closed for a week anyway, also to give employees the opportunity to protect their belongings from flooding or simply flee. The willingness to help was boundless: Austrians, Australians, Italians donated just as much to their American colleagues as Mexicans or Chinese. At the same time, a clear sign was set where humanity triumphs over political, cultural or geographical trencheswww.trotec.com
