Brands Fashion: Sustainability report published
Brands Fashion founder and Managing Director Uli Hofmann.
Brands Fashion, the textile company based in Buchholz near Hamburg, has for the first time published a sustainability report which is now available on the website www.brands-fashion.com. The 24-page report presents the status quo of numerous sectors in which Brands Fashion already operates sustainably or is increasing sustainability in its operations. The textile company develops and produces high-quality, fashionable workwear as well as fashion collections for well-known companies in Europe and the USA. Brands Fashion pursues the goal of producing as many collections as possible made entirely from organic cotton and Fairtrade certified material. "We want to establish an awareness of sustainable business practices among our suppliers, employees and customers in all areas," says founder and Managing Director Uli Hofmann, describing his path to "SOCIAL. GREEN. FASHION." By its own account, the company already occupies a leading position in Europe in the field of sustainable workwear
The report provides information about materials, suppliers, initiatives, locations, goals and prospects. For example, the reader learns that the purchasing volume increased from 3.5 million GOTS-certified items in 2016 to more than 5.5 million in 2017. The number of items of Fairtrade certified cotton increased from around 70,000 to 2.8 million. And the share of Fairtrade customers rose to 15 per cent. The way to "SOCIAL. GREEN. FASHION." can only be implemented so successfully in cooperation with employees, customers and partners. As part of the Jebsen & Jessen group of companies, Brands Fashion has access to trustworthy resources – including the Triton Textile Offices which likewise belong to the Group and carry out regular audits of producers in Asia on behalf of Brands Fashion, thus contributing to a transparent, sustainable supply chain. "Sustainability and environmental awareness lie in our DNA. I am delighted that our first sustainability report has made our path and our goals accessible to all those interested," commented Hofmann.
