Outstanding: Rastal wins the 2016 Red Dot
red dot 2016 for the “Craft Master Two” and outstanding taste sensations.
The “Craft Master” from Rastal was able to score with the “Red Dot” jury of experts. The craft beer glasses received an honourable mention for product design at the 2016 Red Dot awards. A total of 5,214 product entries from 57 nations vied for the prize at this international design competition. The jury only gives an honourable mention to products that exhibit an especially successful aspect of design work and impress with a thoroughly thought-out, detailed solution. A pleasant grip, authentic taste sensation, and shapely design were decisive for the prize. “Characteristic contours mark the overall image of the beer specialty glass, which celebrates an individualized way to enjoy beer,” was the jury’s reasoning. Responsible for enjoying beer in an individual way are well-conceived sensory flow lines. “The faster the beer flows inside the mouth, the later it encounters the tongue. This brings out the essence of the aromas,” is how Carsten Kehrein describes the principle. A characteristic aspect is the tulip-shaped, slightly curved body. For years now, Rastal has been making every effort to design its own glass shapes, from a tasting glass up to trophy shapes, for extraordinary types of beer. This is already the second renowned award won by the “Craft Master Two”. The craft beer glasses are among the current prize-winners of the globally recognized iF label. www.rastal.com
