Germany’s first Moleskine Café has opened in Hamburg
Moleskine has opened the first Moleskine Café in Germany. After the recent opening in Beijing, the opening in Milan last year and the first Moleskine Café in Geneva, the Moleskine Café in Hamburg's Thalia flagship store on Spitaler Strasse is the fourth Moleskine Café in the world. Hamburg, one of the German epicentres for cosmopolitan, creative and active people, has long been known as Germany's "Gateway to the World". The Hanseatic city was therefore the ideal location for the company to open the first Moleskine Café in Germany.
Moleskine Cafés are a place for cultural exchange. In a special gallery area, the Hamburg Café will not only exhibit works by established and aspiring artists but will also offer space for workshops and discussions by and with creative, innovative minds. It all began on 25 March with a one-day event titled "The Moleskine Experience, an Inspired Journey". The Swiss artist Rylsee, a typography enthusiast, demonstrated his work and his creative process during a live painting performance. Apart from Rylsee, an expert and award-winning barista from the Moleskine Café in Milan, Andrea Di Mattia, revealed several coffee secrets. In addition, two artisans adorned Moleskine notebooks for the visitors with motifs in screen printing that celebrate the city of Hamburg.
The Hamburg Café offers a variety of gourmet coffees. Guests can also enjoy Italian, local and continental menus for breakfast and lunch, as well as a selection of light meals throughout the day. Lorenzo Viglione, CEO of Moleskine: “Germany is clearly one of the fastest growing markets in the world. That's one of the reasons for our decision to open our café there. The café offers a unique experience, adding a new perspective to the shopping experience with a mix of shopping, cultural content as well as coffee and food. In addition, our decision to choose Thalia, one of our most important and long-standing partners, was an obvious one, and we look forward to welcoming old and new German brand lovers to the café and shop.” www.moleskine.com/moleskinecafe
